Review: Pure Paw Paw Ointment in Strawberry
The basic Australian staple, the papaw ointment, has evolved vastly over the years. Changing from the stock standard, but infinitely useful product that is kept in just about every household, this little multipurpose goody is now so prevalent that there are even fun versions of it, such as those produced by Pure Paw Paw!
These little tubes of joy come in 4 fun flavours - Strawberry, Grape, Passionfruit and Watermelon, which go for $5.95 each. There is also the original version, which retails for $4.95, if the fun ones don't tickle your fancy.
These all contain a high concentration of Australian papaya sourced from tropical North Queensland, coming together to squeeze a bunch of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants into those colourful tubes to repair, condition and prevent the skin from drying out.
I've been using the Strawberry version, because my default setting for flavours is strawberry, except for ice cream, which is mint choc chip, and it's just perfect for the cold and dry days. This smells so sweet and tasty, but it actually doesn't taste like it smells, which is such a shame!
I like that this just about melts into the skin of the lips, which is great for them, being that they are chapped and dry during this season. It does, however, make the skin on my hands a little slippery, and it also takes a little longer for it to be absorbed. It also feels like there's a bit of a film on my skin for a while after application, but this eventually goes away. Another spot that it's fabulous on is the bit under my nose - just amazing at nose blowing season!
