Review: Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil
Good morning, my gorgeous babes! As I write this, I'm currently languishing on the couch, watching something fun and mindless, while staying cozy in some brand new lounge pants (read: pants that are fancier than my pyjamas, but ones that I could still sleep in if the mood were to strike), and feeling cute as hell, as I marinate in my skincare. I suppose it's easy to feel this smug when my skin is happy, and that is in part due to the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil.
If you haven't heard my spiel previously about cleansing oils - where the heck have you been? But seriously, if you don't know how much I love cleansing oils, well, then, it's time for you to hear about it now! I'm really all about that lazy girl, convenient lifestyle, and when I saw that this Kbeauty brand, Skin1004, had a cleansing oil, my first thought was to press add to cart and take it through to checkout before I could blink. Fun fact - 1004, when said in Korean, sounds like the word angel, so essentially, the hope is that you'd get angel skin with Skin1004!
The formula contains 6 plant-based oils, as well as Madagascar Centella extract and it's designed to help melt away makeup and dirt, so that your skin can be soft, clean and refreshed. It's also meant to help remove excess sebum, helping you keep your skin balanced, without stripping the skin of it's normal oils, or leaving a residue. This comes in a clear bottle with a decent pump, making it easy to visualise when you're running low/out, and it takes about four pushes for the right amount to be dispensed for my needs.
Just as with any other cleansing oils, to use this, simply apply this to dry skin and massage it into your skin, working on the areas that have the most stubborn products so that you can make them budge. Once you're done dissolving them and making them shift, you can rinse it off with lukewarm water prior to double cleansing with another cleanser, so that you can remove all remaining traces of the day and cleansing oil. I love that this doesn't leave a film of greasiness on my contact lenses, which is great, and that this does seem to take off the bulk of my makeup.
However, this doesn't seem to help take off mascara very well, except for tubing ones. It seems to falter against both waterproof and non-waterproof ones, unfortunately, and I'm generally left with streaks under my eyes that I have to remove with micellar water. Otherwise, this does a great job with most  other impurities, and my skin is left feeling smooth and soft. It's pretty affordable, and overall, worth the money. Do you have a cleansing oil that you love?
