Review: Haru Haru Wonder Black Bamboo Daily Smoothing Body Oil

Happy Monday, everyone! It's my first day back at work after having 10 days off, and I don't know about you guys, but it always takes me a while to get my groove back, but having cute patients can be very helpful! Being back in Australia is no different than being in Singapore, weather wise, except that it's currently marginally less humid, but that will only be for another couple of weeks or so, before Summer happens! I know that some of you might want to consider abandoning your body lotion/oil at this point, because the air is less dry, and you're not keen to try and put clothes on after moisturising as everything seems to stick to the skin, but hear me out - I think you really need to keep it up!

Here's why - yes, the weather may be more humid, and therefore less drying for the skin, but it doesn't mean that you're not still being exposed to things like environmental stressors and the general wear and tear of daily life on the skin. Showering means that you're still drying out the skin a little bit, and moisturising will help replenishing and nourish it. Instead of stopping altogether, consider a lighter alternative, like the Haru Haru Wonder Black Bamboo Daily Smoothing Body Oil!

I wanted to try the Haru Haru Wonder Black Bamboo Daily Smoothing Body Oil recently, as I thought it sounded intriguing - I wasn't sure what it meant by milky oil, but it actually is what it sounds like! This comes in a green bottle with a black pump that produces a good amount of oil with each push - I find about 12 pumps to work really well for my whole body. Designed to soften and smooth the skin while calming, hydrating and nourishing it,  this body oil is easy to love.

It harnesses the power of various ingredients, including urea, which helps to break down dead skin cells, and working with mandelic acid, which is helpful for exfoliation, together, these can reveal new supple skin, smoothing over rough patches. Urea also moisturises and protects the skin barrier, while mandelic acid, which is an AHA, can brighten and soften the skin, as can fermented bamboo shoot extract. There's also squalene, which can help strengthen the skin barrier, protect and moisturise the skin, while organic sweet almond oil and tamanu oil, which are packed full of antioxidants, can help fight free radicals, keep the skin hydrated, control sebum levels and look after the skin barrier.

This comes out as a milky, white oil - think, almost like a body lotion that's melted and runny, making it an easy product for the skin to absorb. I love that this has a light citrus scent when you first put it on, which then fades away. You can definitely overdo it, and put on so much that your skin ends up feeling a little sticky, so take it from me when I say that less is certainly more. Because of how light it is, you might think you need a bit more on the skin, but my advise is to place a layer and let it dry down before you put another one on. This can be found at various retailers that stock K-beauty products for just under $20, including YesStyle, where I have a 5% off affiliate code (TPRINCESS20) for you! What's your go to body oil for the Summer?
