Review: Ultraceuticals Firming Serum and Ultra UV Protective Daily Shield SPF 50+ *

Ultraceuticals isn't a brand that I've dabbled in often, mostly due to it not being on my radar. Aside from a tinted moisturiser, I haven't had much else to do with them, so when I was given the chance to try out some of their products recently, I was pretty excited about it!
Ultraceuticals is an Aussie owned and made company, and they are big on sun protection, which will be pretty evident in the second product I'll be talking about today.

But first, let's discuss their Ultra C10+ Firming Serum! This little baby comes in small white and silver pump bottle containing 30 ml of liquid. This is an anti-ageing serum that's supposed to help visibly tighten and firm skin, and is meant for normal, oily or dry skin - which just about covers it all!

It's meant to contain 10% pure vitamin C and two peptides to help smooth wrinkles and improve skin firmness. Does it work? It goes on the skin incredibly smoothly and sinks right into the skin. I've noticed my skin looking visibly more supple. A definite win!

This took me a few goes to fall totally in love with it. This Ultraceuticals broad spectrum sunscreen comes in a slightly less conventional packaging with a clear cap and a tube with a pump. It contains SPF 50+, providing protection against UVA and UVB.

I will admit to being a little put off by the consistency to begin with, given that it's quite thick and almost kinda sticky, but once you start rubbing it into the skin, well, that's when the magic really happens! This is meant for all skin types, and is also apparently recommended post procedure.

This. Dries. Matte. No, that's not a joke, this actually dries down matte and leaves a bit of a tint on your skin. The tint isn't very noticeable, and does blend in really well, as long as you are thorough with your rubbing in. This dries down fast, letting you apply your make up shortly afterwards. For all my shiny girls out there who would like to be less so, this may be your new best friend.

These products retail for $65 and $106 respectively. While these products may be a little on the more expensive side, I do think that the results pretty much speak for themselves!

The best part that I haven't even mentioned yet? Ultraceuticals is cruelty free! With so much goodness in small packaging, this is a brand you need to be checking out!

Have you tried Ultraceuticals before? What's your favourite product from them?

  4. I haven't tried either of these products. I like the sound of the sunscreen drying matte but at that price and given the amount to sunscreen we should be applying for it to be effective, this product is a bit on the expensive side for me!
