Review: Boots Laboratories Serum7 Regenerating Night Cream *

Doesn't everyone want a beauty treatment that would work with very little effort on your own part? I think that's the basis of having silk pillow cases and sleep masks, but before we even consider those options, we need to discuss something far more necessary - night creams!
For those who don't already use night creams, listen up! There is no time like the present, and if you're anything like my younger self, then, no, using your day cream at night doesn't cut it (although it is better than nothing!).

Boots has a total of three night creams to pick from, and these are all targeted a different age groups. Of the two I was sent, I've been using the Regenerating version, and here's why:

1) It's for women aged 28 - 40 years old to help alleviate the first signs of ageing.
2) While this particular formula is for dry skin, there is also one available for normal skin.
3) It absorbs easily, hydrating the skin overnight.
4) Skin is smoother, and fine line and wrinkles are reduced after four weeks.

While I can speak for the first three points being true, I'm not certain that the fine lines and wrinkles are particularly reduced, but I can say that they certainly aren't multiplying and that this cream is keeping things at bay.

The formula is rich, but does sink into the skin nicely. It does come in a jar, which I'm not keen on, but the container itself is made of glass and has a reassuringly nice heft to it. It smells vaguely, and pleasantly, of roses. This retails for a low $34.

For those who are interested, the two other night creams are:
1) Rejuvenating
- For 40 - 55 year olds
- To help combat deeper lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity
- Make skin feel softer, supple and more moisturised
- Lifts and tightens, leaving skin visibly firmer
- Reduce appearance of deeper lines and wrinkles and even skin tone
- $36

2) Renew
- For women over 55 years of age
- Designed to target and help improve the main signs of mature skin ageing
- Help accelerate surface cell turnover to reduce the appearance of brown spots and reveal more radiant skin
- Help reduce the appearance of line and wrinkles
- $42

Having used their day cream previously, I had high hopes for the night cream, and it didn't disappoint. I actually gave my mum a day cream of theirs six months ago, and she loved it, and this makes me want to get some of the night cream for her, which would be heavy to send overseas, but what can you do?

Boots can be found at Amcal, Amcal Max and Guardian Pharmacy.

Have you tried their skincare range? What night cream do you use?
