Review: SCPerfume Perfumes *

A while back, I was given the chance to trial some perfumes from a company called SCPerfume, and I was sent a selection of samples that I got to pick, as well as a full sized bottle of perfume, which was unexpected!

SCPerfume (Saigon Cosmetic Company) is a Vietnam based company that uses French equipment and ingredients to create a variety of scents. Here's what I picked:

1) Miss Saigon Elegance No. 2: Not my favourite, given that it has a very watered down scent to it. White musk stands out to me most, which is funny, as it's part of the base notes.

This has top notes of apricot, blackcurrent and mandarin; middle notes of freesia, jasmine and lily; base notes of cedarwood and white musk.

2) Cindy Classy (N42): This has to be my favourite scent of the lot! The notes that I pick up most from this are jasmine and lily, and it's a little fruity, but in a feminine way, if that makes sense?

This has top notes of peach, pineapple, green notes; middle notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and rose; base notes of cedarwood, patchouli and vanilla.

3) Cindy No. 6: Despite the promising notes, this sadly reminds me a little of room freshener. Sandalwood is what I picked up straight away.

This has top notes of bergamot, galbanum and lavender; middle notes of coriander, lily of the valley and orange blossom; base notes of sandalwood and vanilla.

4) Diana No. 0: This reminds of a sweeter version of Chanel No. 5, and it dries down to smell of musk and rose.

This has top notes of bergamot; middle notes of carnation, rose and tuberose; base notes of musk, oakmoss and patchouli.

5) Miss Vietnam Saigon (Gold): I don't know how else to describe this, except to say that it dries down to a powdery fresh scent.

This has top notes of citrus; middle notes of jasmine and narcissus; base notes of amber and patchouli.

I was also sent a bottle of Essy Beautiful Dream, which is a floral fruity scent that is very pretty, but sadly doesn't last for long, which isn't surprising, given that it's an EDT. The freesia and peony are stand out notes for this perfume, and it also contains amber, cedarwood and musk.

What's great about this company is that you can just buy a sample/tester for $2 each, and you even get store credit for it, which you can then redeem online - bit of a vicious buying circle, really! This is also an excellent way to dabble out of the scent box, so you can explore more of what you might like, without even setting foot in a store, and being overwhelmed by all the smells.

  2. The samples are a great idea, love the sound of a few of them. I suck at picking scents, and cannot describe what I'm smelling most of the time :) I love fruity, floral, girlie scents, may have to check these out.
