Review: Justice Haircare Marine Beauty Scalp Scrub

We don't talk enough about how the seasons and weather tend to affect our hair and scalp. As I've gotten older, I have found that going through the cold, dry months tend to make my scalp itch a little bit. As someone who regularly washes her hair every other day, while also striving to keep that balance between wanting to have lovely, luscious locks that continue to look vibrant and bouncy, I end up using more product in my hair than I probably should some days. So how does that impact us when we're just out here, simply trying to live our best hair days?

Well, it means that we might have to take additional measures to help our hair recover from what we put it through, and in this particular case, it would mean using the Justice Haircare Marine Beauty Scalp Scrub! If you feel like you may have seen Justice Haircare around before, but can't quite remember where, there' a very good chance you might have crossed paths with the brand over at Just Cuts. A brand that was created, formulated and designed in Australia, their range contains active botanicals to help keep the hair happy and healthy, all while remaining affordable.

The Justice Haircare Marine Beauty Scalp Scrub is meant to help gently exfoliate the scalp, so that it can assist in removing build up and flakes, while also purifying and rebalancing the skin. This is also supposed to aid in strengthening the hair, improving scalp health and circulation and support healthy hair growth. This has been formulated using 96% natural ingredients, and on top of everything else, it's Australian made and the packaging has been created with 30% ocean waste plastic.

What does 30% ocean waste plastic translate into from the consumer's perspective? The Marine Beauty Scalp Scrub comes as a blue tube with a flip lid, and this feels sturdy - I can't tell at all that it has any recycled material in it. When you squeeze the tube, a thick line of gritty scrub comes out, and unlike some other scrubs I've previously used, this doesn't leave any material in my hair. Instead, it breaks down, and that makes it easy to massage into my hair and scalp. I love that it doesn't seem to clump and that it washes out easily.

This has a 'marine' sort of scent to it, which you'd understand if you're drawn to similarly scented products, such as certain candles or room scents - a little fresh and pleasant. It make sense, given that this has vegan marine collagen in it, which is meant to help reduce oxidative stress, while strengthening hair proteins. This also has spirulina in the formula, and this is full of proteins, vitamins and antioxidants, all meant to help with scalp balance and shine. Last but not least, there's also rosemary leaf oil, said to help encourage hair growth and strength. While I don't feel like it's made a massive difference for my hair growth or shine, my scalp does feel a little less greasy, which is appreciated on sweaty days. You can find it over here. Do you use a scalp scrub?
