Review: New Zealand Glacial Clay Mud Masque

Ok, so we're all winding down from Christmas, while also gearing up for New Year's, although I suspect that most of us may be having a pretty low key one this year. That doesn't mean that it hasn't been stressful, because, let's face it, it's been pretty much full on this entire year, and you're probably in desperate need of a bit of R & R and you're dying to have some wind down time. And everyone knows that you can't wind down properly in your own home without a mask!

I've been crushing on the Glacial Clay Mud Masque, which has been an unexpected (because I wasn't expecting it to land on my desk) boon, but also, it's been unexpectedly awesome! This mask comes in a white jar with a wooden lid, and that allows you to scoop out the appropriate amount of product easily, in order to slather it all over the skin. Each jar holds enough product for about 20 - 30 facials, which, for $59.99 for 100 g, is quite good value.

The base of this is a New Zealand Glacial Clay, made from a collision of volcanic ashes and glacial ice, which is meant to detoxify the skin, while delivering essential minerals like iron, silica and calcium. This is also infused with aloe vera, olive oil, manuka fern and kawakawa to help with soothing, revitalising, repairing and softening the skin. This is a green clay, and it has a very matcha-coloured tone to it when I smear it all over my face. This doesn't take long to dry down, and I really like how it does feel like my skin is getting detoxified, because it looks a little clearer and a little brighter after I've used it.

This is cruelty free, and a good option for those who are in the market for a new clay mask! For anyone would might be interested in getting one for themselves, so that they can relax, and see in the New Year with a face mask, you can get more information over here.
