Make Chapped Lips a Thing of the Past with Burt's Bees
Dry Winter skin, chapped Winter lips... Are we over this season yet? Having grown up in a tropical country, I've never had to worry about things getting too dry - in fact, the far opposite was the norm. However, moving to different countries meant dealing with some unpleasant Winter issues, especially when I lived in Canada. Now that I've been in Australia for years, I've managed to lick most of these problems, but licking certainly doesn't help this current issue - Sahara-like lips in the dead of Winter. Thankfully, lip products have improved and progressed by leaps and bounds, and I'm talking about some of my absolute favourite products from Burt's Bees today!
First off, you don't own at least one lip balm per handbag that you have, then you're at a major disadvantage. I mean, there have been times when I've changed handbags, and I ended up rummaging around and coming up empty handed, because I'd forgotten to actually put a lip balm in the new bag. This might also explain why when I do a clean out of my hand bag, I find about 6 different lippies in there!
It is incredibly handy to have one of these around, however, because aside from it being not particularly attractive, when the skin is flaking off your lips, the primary concern is that your lips end up feeling uncomfortable, with it cracking, and bleeding a little. Doesn't sound great, does it? And of course, it's great to have options when it comes to Burt's Bees, because there are 13, yes, 13 different lip balms to pick from, and we're not even including the tinted ones in that count!
Of course, sometimes, aside from conditioning your lips and keeping them supple, lip balms serve as a great base for a good colour. That said, you'd have to be careful, and in this weather, it's important to pick a lippie that won't dry your lips out any further. Burt's Bees has some really great options, with the Tinted Lip Oil as something that I reach for when the lip balm needs a bit of help. This results in a glossy finish and beautifully conditioned lips covered in a hint of colour. Then of course, if you're after something that will give you a smoother finish, complete with a glass shine and the colour turned up a little notch, the Lip Shine (see previous review here) will have you smiling. I'm still loving the non-sticky, non-greasy formula - great for anytime of the year, but particularly fantastic for Winter!
