Review: Clinique ID (Hydrating Jelly + Uneven Texture)

I do realise that I'm quite late to the game, but you know what they say - better late than never! I've been very busy playing around with one of Clinique's latest releases, and it's a typical of having too much fun, and not enough time to talk about it!

If you've spent any time online, you'd have seen the Clinique ID range cropping up over the last few months. This allows for 15 different combinations in total, enough that you might be able to find one to adequately target the specific problems you're looking to manage.

It starts off with you picking the type of moisturiser that you're keen on - the hydrating jelly, oil controlling gel for oily/combination skin types or the moisturising lotion for dry/dry combination skin. I picked the hydrating jelly, which I'm basically going to bathe in during the Summer, because this stuff just sinks into my skin and gets absorbed within seconds. Amazing!

Once you've chosen your base, you'll have to decide what kind of serum you'd like, based on what you're looking to target. If you're doing this in store, there are clever little smart screens that can help you identify what you should be trying to concentrating on. There are five types in total - Uneven Skin Tone, Fatigue, Pores and Uneven Texture, Lines and Wrinkles and Irritation.

I was already pretty sure I knew that I wanted to target, and it was like the screen was reading my mind, and actually picked Uneven Texture, which I would have definitely gone for! Uneven Texture is good for those aiming to reduce pigmentation and brighten the skin. Now, in order to use the two of them together (your chosen base and serum), just slide the serum cartridge into the moisturiser and away you go! Every pump gets you both the moisturiser and serum, which makes this perfect for time poor people or lazy girls, like me!

This combination really agrees with my skin, and I love just how efficient this feels to me, both in that it works well, and also just the whole 2-in-1 design. It's just very clever, and I'm busy working my way to the bottom of this!

Have you tried this range? What's your favourite Clinique product?

I've been loving the whole combination - definitely right for the lazy girl in me with the whole two birds, one stone approach! The results have been good, and I've been really pleased with this duo. I'd highly recommend trying it out for yourself! The Clinique ID system is set up so that you can target your concerns, using the type of moisturiser that you're keen on, of which you can pick one of three types - the hydrating jelly, which I went for, or the oil controlling gel for oily/combination skin types, or the moisturising lotion for dry to dry combination babes. I found the hydrating jelly to basically sink into my skin, absorbed within seconds, and that is definitely not an exaggeration!

Once you've picked your base, you just have to go for a serum that can sort out your issues. The five types are Uneven Skin Tone, Fatigue, Pores and Uneven Texture, Lines and Wrinkles and Irritation. With the help of the clever little smart screen at the Clinique counter, I ended up getting the Uneven Texture. Given that I'm Asian, with some degree of pigmentation, I thought that it did a good job of picking the right one for me.
