Review: Naisture Ginseng Mask Pack

When I visited my sister in New York a few months ago, she offered me a bunch of beauty items that she wasn't using, and being the magpie I was, I pounced! Amongst them was this little mask that came from Sasa, and I thought I'd give it a go!

Meant to tighten the skin and moisturise the skin, it contains ginseng extract, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin, trehalose and shea butter.

I find it a common theme to have a lot of serum in Asian face mask packs, and I wasn't disappointed when I opened this up! It can get a little messy, is the only other thing. I prepped the skin with toner, then left in on my face for 15 minutes.

And here you go! I bet you were waiting for this alluring picture! As you can see, it was wide enough to cover my nose, and relatively large - I had to fold the edge in at the bottom! Once the time was up, I patted the remaining serum into my skin.

The results? My skin felt quite moisturised, but not necessarily any tighter. Additionally, the one thing I couldn't get past was the smell of this mask. Ginseng has quite an obvious smell, and it hit me when I first opened the pack. I was fine with it the entire time it was on my face, and didn't think it would be an issue, but Mr Prince said that 'something smelled funny' the rest of the night, and he figured out it was my face!

Overall, good results, but interesting smell!

  3. My grandparents ate tiny slices of gingseng when I was a little kid, I always thought they were eating lollies or some sort of sweets... I really wanted to have some too, so I opened the little can and caught a whiff. I think i'll find difficulty to get over the smell if I had a gingseng mask too!
