Review: No 7 Pure Retinol Post Retinol Soother

I know that it's been about a week since I've been home, but honestly guys, as much as I love being away and seeing family, there's nothing quite like coming back to your own life, you know what I mean? Sleeping in your own bed, and getting back into your own skin care routine - that's two things that I miss when I'm not at home, in addition to hanging out with my cat, of course! I mean, I did miss my cat, but it's very hard to miss him at the moment, sitting right in front of my telly, covering up half the screen, making it impossible to watch what I'm streaming, but still - it's very nice that he's in my orbit!

Flying, as we all know, can wreck havoc on the skin, as can retinol, especially for the babes who have sensitive skin, or might not be used to it, and for the latter, you can mitigate that with certain products, such as the No 7 Pure Retinol Post Retinol Soother. This is a lightweight, fragrance free cream that's meant to help balance, calm and hydrate the skin after using retinol. Essentially, it's designed to help minimise sensitivity, as well as support your skin's natural barrier, all while also aiding in reducing the dryness and discomfort that can come along with using retinol.

As someone who uses retinol regularly, and have done so for quite a few years, I rarely get caught out by the adverse effects of retinol, but on the occasion that it's happened, the No 7 Pure Retinol Post Retinol Soother has been quite helpful. I've actually had this tube opened for quite a while, and I'm finally writing it up. It never hurts to have something that can help build your skin barrier and reduce sensitivity, and it's meant to also help boost the skin's tolerance, leaving it feeling smoother and looking and feeling healthier.

This is a lightweight non-greasy product that gets absorbed easily, and this is fragrance free. It's said to be suitable for sensitive skin, and there are a number of key ingredients to help the skin feel more comfortable. This has niacinamide to help hydrate the skin, while soothing redness, and support the skin barrier. There's also shea butter to nourish and condition the skin, while humectants like glycerin and panthenol help draw water into the skin, keeping it plump and moisturised. Additionally, there's bisabolol for calming inflammation and improving that dry, tight feeling your skin can get when it's not happy.

Last but not least, there's also ceramides in it, and these little babies can help keep the skin moisturised, and strengthen the skin barrier. I recently noticed a small patch of my eyelid starting to flare up a little, getting redder and looking a bit dry, and this helped with soothing my skin and improving it's resilience. This comes in a tube with a screw cap, making it easy to get the product out. I like to lay this underneath my night cream, but on top of my serum, so it builds a nice little physical barrier. This retails for just under $30, and can be found at Priceline, as well as Adore Beauty, so keep an eye out for when it goes on sale! Could you use this in your daily routine?
