Review: Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum
Happy Spring Day, y'al1! I know it's still a little cold, but I'm just so happy to be on the other side of Winter, and not have to think about it staying at the low temperatures for much longer that I'm just about ready to start breaking out my Summer dresses and short shorts! This also means that I have to start shedding all the sad dullness of Winter off to let the light shine in, and that includes getting rid of the grey pallor that seems to dog my skin when it's cold and dry.
I've been trying out the Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum, and I honestly don't know how it's taken me this long to add it into my routine, because this totally sounds like something that I would use regularly. So, it's cruelty free and vegan, and in a nutshell, it promises to help you even your skin tone, while also brightening it it, as well as firming and hydrating the skin. Let's be frank - I'm sure that you're tempted now too!
This uses a stable, oil soluble form of Vitamin C that's meant to be gentle, while penetrating the skin efficiently to help protect it against environmental aggressors. This key ingredient is supposed to help fight free radical damage, improving the appearance of dark spots, while also assisting with a smoother skin tone and supporting skin firmness and elasticity. This all means that it's meant to help keep the skin looking brighter, feeling softer and staying supple.
This also has phytosterols complex, which has been derived from soybeans, and meant to help soothe the skin, while reducing inflammation, and making it so that it would be less sensitive. There is also glycolic acid in it to help gently lift dead skin cells from the skin surface, encouraging cellular turnover, and allowing for better penetration of the active ingredients, as well as letting the new smooth skin come through.
This comes in a glossy orange glass bottle with a white cap that you can pull off easily, and the nozzle is actually connected to a small bag that you can lift out of the bottle, making it easier for recycling. I initially thought this was so that you could buy a refill, rather than get a whole new bottle, but I can't seem to find that information anywhere, so I'm assuming that this is not the case. Now, how does it perform? It has a slightly sweet orange scent, which I love, and the serum has more of a cream consistency. While thick, this gets absorbed nicely, and my skin does look brighter with it's use. That said, I don't know that this is quite worth the $149 price tag, because I would hope for better results for that amount, but if you're curious, you can pick your own up at Mecca. What product have you loved from Sunday Riley?
