Review: Baby Foot Exfoliating Foot Peel
Spring is pretty great for lots of things. Cleaning, for one, which is something that I really need to be sorting out, as well as my gardening, because this is the time of year where you try to get your plants sorted out, so that they can really bloom and fruit as it gets warmer. And here's something that you may not have thought of - it's also the perfect time of year to do a foot peel, before you have to change out of your close-toed shoes, and swap them out for strappy sandals!
That's of course because you can, and I'm so sorry to make you read this, do all your shedding without people having to see the in between stage, where there's lots of skin flaking off. I apologise, I realise that it's probably a visceral image for people who haven't done a foot peel before, but honestly, what are you doing with your life, if you haven't done one yet? For those who don't know, Baby Foot is a foot peel that penetrates through layers of thickened, dead skin, breaking down the proteins that bind them together, so that you can be left with fresh, soft skin that's ready to step out in the cutest shoes to showcase them!
It does so by using 17 natural fruit and plant extracts, and while it sounds like it might also end up drying the skin by removing it, this is also designed to help moisturise it, which means that when you've shed all the skin, your skin is supposed to still be quite hydrated. This is cruelty free, as well as being free from harsh chemicals. It comes as a pair of little socks that you pop on, and tape in place, which is provided. You do so, as they are a bit of a one size fits most system that can slip around a bit, and the tape simply secures it in place.
To make it a snug fit, I wear either a pair of socks or my fluffy house socks with grip at the bottom, so that I can still shuffle around the house safely and multitask, without running the risk of tripping over my own feet. I prep my feet before putting my Baby Foot on by soaking them for about 15 minutes in warm water to help soften up the skin, so that they can be ready to go. I then dry them before slipping the booties on, and then I wait for an hour, which just flies by, before rinsing my feet with warm water to get all the product off.
It is incredible, and still blows my mind, how much skin comes off with them! Be prepared, and plan accordingly, because you don't want to be in a midst of shedding skin when you're attending an important function! It takes about 14 days for the cycle to be complete, and once it's done, you'd be left with such soft and gorgeous skin, it's totally worth wearing house socks around your house for two weeks! This is available in two scents, lavender and mint, as well as 'For Men', which I can only take to mean that it's fragrance free. It's currently available at multiple retailers, including TVSN, and sits around $32.95 for a pack. Do you do a peel regularly, or is this new to you?
