Review: Antipodes Flora Probiotic Skin-Rescue Hyaluronic Acid Mask

It's a Monday and hopefully, you're fully recharged and ready to take on the week! If, like me, you've had a full on one and could honestly use another day of snoozing and hanging out at home, working your way through life admin stuff, then you're probably in need of a boost, both mentally (to make you feel better), and dermatologically (to make your skin feel better)!

Antipodes, a brand that has come up repeatedly on the blog, features again today, because their Flora Probiotic Skin Rescue Hyaluronic Acid Mask has been busy working it's magic on my skin, and I honestly feel like it's been just a wonderful addition to my skincare regime! This boast the ability to help you reclaim healthy skin by destressing and freshening sensitive skin, and given the ingredients in it, I can't say I'm surprised that it's my new favourite mask from them!

It harnesses the benefits of the good bacteria on the skin by using the probiotic, Kalibiome Sensitive, to help keep the skin's microflora balanced, resulting in a reduction in redness and itching, so you can hopefully have a clear complexion. The inclusion of plant hyaluronic acid helps with hydration, and there is also New Zealand harakeke flex gel to help keep the skin soothed, so it stays comfortable. It's suitable for most skin types, including sensitive or stressed skin.

If you've tried Antipodes before, then you'd be familiar with the packaging - it comes in a slim metal tube with a screw cap. When you squeeze it, a very pale pink, creamy mask comes out, which is easily slathered over the skin, like a thick cream. For some reason, perhaps it's the probiotic thing, or the colour of the mask, this makes me feel like it Yakult were a face mask, this would be it personified. It has a light lavender and rose scent that overall, just smells very faintly floral and pretty to me.

It doesn't dry down, and after 15 minutes, you can wash it off. It's been an excellent mask to use when my skin has been a little bit hormonal, and in need of a bit of help. It's also been a bit of a skin saver (just about literally) when I've had a little bit too much sun this season. Additionally, as my sister can attest to it, this is an excellent face mask to help restore balance to your skin after you've been on a long haul flight. As it all Antipodes products, you can expect this to have recyclable packaging, and the boxes come with 100% eco vegetable ink for the print. This can be purchased on it's own, or as part of a kit with the Credo Probiotic Ferment Revitalise Serum.
