High Tea at Park Hyatt, Sydney
I celebrated my workmates' birthdays in style over the weekend at the Park Hyatt - how, you ask? Why, by having a lovely little high tea, of course! Miss SV was one of the birthday girls, and as part of her birthday, she let me do her makeup and hair!
No, she's not wearing falsies - it's just mascara and an eyelash curler! For this look, I used the following:
1) Benefit Porefessional Primer
2) Nude by Nature BB Cream
3) Nude by Nature Soft Focus Illuminator
4) Illamasqua Highlight and Contour Duo
5) Essence Cosmetics LOVE Blush
6) Shanghai Suzy Lipstick in Miss Sanja
7) Ardell Brow Palette
8) Macrolash Mascara
9) Essence Matte Power
10) Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
11) Urban Decay Naked 3
12) Colour Theory Eyeshadow Duo in Berrylicious
As for the curls, it's all thanks to Vidal Sassoon's Curl Secret! Easy to use and amazingly great curls each time! Thus, we were then ready to head out to town!
For a change, we had a mix of dietary requirements, ranging from vegan to vegetarian to meat eating, which meant that I got the chance to see what everyone got!
Because we were such a large group, we got to sit at a long table of 8, which was positioned near the lobby. It's a really dignified set up, near the water, and there's a gorgeous view, where you can feel like you're away from other people and yet part of an exclusive group.
We were given the option of afternoon high tea for $49 or champagne afternoon high tea for $65 - and of course, I chose the latter!
We each had our own menu, where all the teas were laid out nicely, as well as what we were going to eat.
Here's what the normal afternoon tea comprised of.
Here's what was on the vegetarian menu.
And this is Miss GM, who's one of the youngest members of the group, and a cutie! She matched her lips to her nails, then was too shy for me to take a full picture of her!
We also got a large bowl of warm gorgeous scones, with bits of sugar on the top, as well as thick jam and very thick cream.
Miss SV had a stand all to herself! I was a little disappointed to find fruit as a substitute for the finger sandwiches, but I liked the look of the little cups at the top.
For tea, I got chamomile with a side of honey, both of which were delivered, and the waiter was very attentive and came by to ask if we had everything we needed and kept our water topped up.
Overall, I found the service amazing, from when I called in to book, to when we were being served, and the food was great, but they could have done some savoury items for the vegan menu. I really enjoyed my afternoon there, and it was a good introduction to a few people in the crowd who was experiencing their first high tea!
I would rate this:
9/10
Gosh everything looks lovely, it is a bit of a cop out to substitute sliced fruits for finger sandwiches. Is $65 for 2 people? My boyfriend's bday is coming up and I'm thinking of treating him to high tea (was initially thing about Kobe Jones). I saw an alice in wonderland high tea voucher online, it looks interesting but I still think the best I've had was in the blue mnts!
ReplyDeleteSadly, it's $65 per person. Was the Alice in Wonderland one the one in Chatswood? I went to that one!
DeleteWow, it looks like a really great event! Love the pink hair! :)
