Review: Toboco Juicy Berry Plumping Lip Oil

It's back to reality this weekend, and back to doing all the things I usually do. It also means that I have to get back to tidying my makeup room, which is admittedly a bit of a mess at the moment, what with having jetted off to three locations over the last two weeks. It's amongst all of the mess that I found this lovely lip oil that I was wanting to try out and forgot about, and with all the dry cabin air and change in the weather, it's the best time to take it out for a test drive!

You may be familiar with Toboco, if you're a regular K-beauty user. I feel like there was a time when eveyone had a Toboco sunscreen stick, and you couldn't walk five steps in the sunshine without having someone whip it out to help keep your skin stay sun safe. I'm a big fan of lip oils and Korean beauty products, so you can imagine my excitement when I was doing a little bit of online shopping when I came across the stunning Toboco Juice Berry Plumping Lip Oil.

As someone who watches K-dramas regularly, it never fails to amaze me just how gorgeous the 'no makeup' makeup they do on set always manage to look so incredibly flawless and effortless. The best part, of course, is that their makeup is often very minimalistic, right down to the stained lips that look juicy, full and sometimes glossy. The Toboco Juicy Berry Plumping Lip Oil is a range of lip oils made with blueberry fruit extract and wild cherry fruit extract as part of the formula and it's meant to help plump the lips while also giving them a gorgeous shine.

This vegan lip oil comes in a whole range of shades, and while I only picked up two shades, I'm wondering if I should look at giving the darker colours a bit more of a go. Being the sucker for a good red lip, I reached for it in Cherry Ade, which is a bright red that would look cute year round. This comes in a frosted tube with a round cap that has an applicator built into it, and this may be my least favourite thing about the lip oil.

The applicator is basically a silicone/plastic? wand that has a flat surface, so you're essentially trying to load the product onto the lips and spread it using this awkward little stick - can't say it's the most efficient way of actually applying the lip oil, and it does also make it a bit messy. I do love that this has a non sticky formula, and a bit of a cooling tingle that tells me that the plumping formula is working, aside from me actually being able to see that my lips look fuller after applying it. I do wish that the colour would come through a bit more, however, rather than being just a bit of a tint, but I suppose that it is the allure of the 'no makeup' makeup - a slightly glossy shine, plumper lips and a hint of colour! Is this something you'd try?
