Review: Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist
We may have slipped quietly into Autumn, yet the humidity in the air shows no signs of abating. It continues to be hot and sticky here in Sydney, and I find that my makeup has been struggling to keep up with the temperatures in NSW a bit. While I still appreciate being able to wear less, and being warm, because goodness knows that I'm not a big fan of the cooler days to come, I've been spritzing my face with something to help my skin cool down, and it has been most helpful. That, of course, is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist.
I've been a fan of Elemis products for a while - they seem to marry functionality with luxury really well, and every time I use one of their products, I feel a little bit fancy. It's not hard to see why, considering that the range has quite a minimalistic appearance, while still having a very rich texture to it. I think most people who have heard of Elemis before would know of their cleansing balm. It's a very heavy duty makeup remover that pretty much mows through everything that stands in their way, and it leaves the skin feeling very moisturised, as well as clean.
This time, I was lucky enough to unbox the Elemis Pro-Collagen Toning Mist as part of my Christmas advent calendar, and I was intrigued at the idea of this being a collagen filled product. This is designed to help improve the skin texture, while also supporting the health of the skin. It's said to be suitable for all skin types, and it's also meant to prep, prime, refresh and refine the skin, leaving it smoother and ready to take on the next level of skincare or make up.
It contains Padina Pavonica algae, which is a brown macroalgae that's chock full of antioxidants, and meant to help the skin stay hydrated, and be more resilient against skin aggressors and stressors. The formula also includes marine biotech ferment to help balance excess shine and improve the appearance of pores. Last but not least, there's also gluconolactone, which is a gentle PHA, and supposed to help lift off dead skin cells for a smoother, softer surface.
This is available in 2 different sizes - 30 ml and 150 ml, and the 30 ml size is perfect for travelling with! It has a pull off cap, and the pump does a great job of producing a very fine mist with each push. I love that this covers the face beautifully with a very thin, sheer layer of, well, mist, like the name would suggest. I love that this does seem to help keep my skin well hydrated, particularly when I indulge in little spritzes throughout the day. Otherwise, though, it doesn't seem to do anything dramatic for my skin, sadly. I do think that this would make a superb spray for my upcoming flights, at least! What's your go to Elemis product?
