Review: Gisou Honey Infused Lip Oil
Has anyone else been struggling with their sinuses recently? Mine have been very triggered by something in the air recently, and that has resulted in me blowing my nose a lot, which has caused a patch of dry skin to appear just under my nose. Frustratingly, I also feel like this has resulted in my lips drying out a little bit, but thankfully, I do have a few excellent remedies within reach that I have been able to use to prevent my lips from cracking and one in particular has been gracing my lips, thanks to Mecca, and that's the Gisou Honey Infused Lip Oil!
I received this as part of my birthday present from Mecca, and let's just be honest here - who doesn't love a gorgeous loyalty reward for all money you've spent at one place? I'm a massive sucker for freebie products! And in this case, it's actually a product that I got to try for the first time, so I'm grateful for the loyalty programme! This is said to be a lip oil that gives a glossy, non sticky finish, while also being massively hydrating. The key ingredient is, of course, Mirsalehi honey, which functions to nourish the lips by being rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It also packs a punch a powerful antioxidant, while helping to heal and moisturise the lips.
This also has Mirsalehi bee garden oil blend, which is filled with omegas 3. 6 and 9 to help strengthen the skin surface, and meant to help nourish the lips, keeping them moisturised for longer. Additionally, this also has hyaluronic acid ultra feeling spheres™, which are essentially low molecular hyaluronic acid in konjac glucomannan spheres, which are supposed to reach deeper into the dermis, and hold about 200 times their weight in water, keeping the lips smooth and plump. And where would this lip oil be without a blend of different oils, with each bringing something different to the table.
There's buriti fruit oil, which is meant to be restoring, given that it's rich in antioxidants and omega 9 to help regenerate the skin's lipids, so that dry chapped lips can be rejuvenated. Blueberry seed oil is steeped in omegas 3 and 6, and these are great for soothing, hydrating and protecting the skin barrier. Jojoba oil, rich in vitamin E and other essential vitamins and minerals, can help soothe and calm the skin, so that the lips can stay soft. And there's also meadowfoam seed oil, which is an emollient, and locks in moisture, so that you can have soft and supple lips.
This comes in a clear glass tube that you can see the product through, and it currently comes in 13 shades, and I love that there's enough variety so that there's something for everyone. It has a narrow doe foot applicator, making it easy to distribute this over the lips. I love that this goes onto the lips smoothly, and that it isn't sticky, but does still leave my lips with a bit of a shine and sparkle. It also smells delicious, and always makes me think of baked goods! This retails for $48, and you can find it over here at Mecca. Have you tried this nourishing lip oil yet?
