Review: Swisse Vitamin C 10% Brightening Booster Serum and Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Night Serum
Your serum has to be one of the most powerful products in your arsenal of skincare goodies - this is the one that you want to pick out to target a specific issue. It can be even better if you it were to contain a combination of active ingredients, so that you're truly maximizing it's performance on your skin. After all, if you're splashing out your hard earned money, particularly in this day and age, with our cost of living and all that, you'd be looking for something that's truly going to work.
I recently had the chance to use some Swisse products, including a revisit with the Swisse Vitamin C 10% Brightening Booster Serum, and spoiler - I'm happy to report that it's as good as it ever was! If you're keen to read through my previous post, you can find it over here. This is a serum that has been formulated with 10% Vitamin C, as the name would suggest, as well as Niacinamide and Vitamin E. It's designed to help improve the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone, while also enhancing the skin barrier, and conditioning the skin, resulting in a more luminous complexion, with the added bonus of softer skin!
As per my previous experience with the serum, it's certainly helped to add a radiant glow to the skin, and I love that it's a repeatable result! It also seems like the skin tone is a little more even with it's usage, but sadly, as before, this hasn't helped with fading my dark spots. That said, it remains an excellent serum to use, even at the price that it's now retailing for, which is essentially double that of what it was over a year ago. You can find this for just under $26 at various retailers, including Chemist Warehouse.
Next up, I had the pleasure of trying the Swisse Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Night Serum, and it's been lovely on my skin! This is meant to help exfoliate the skin, so that you can enjoy having a smoother skin surface, and I imagine, allowing for the penetration of active ingredients into the skin. This is also designed to help minimise the appearance of dark spots for a more even skin tone, while keeping it soothed and hydrated with pro-vitamin B5 and Hyaluronic Acid.
Like the Vitamin C serum, this also comes in a dark bottle, protecting it from being broken down by sunlight, and the pump works well, dispensing a decent amount each time. This is best introduced slowly, such as by using this only twice a week to begin with, allowing your skin to adjust to it before increasing it slowly, with the goal of using it once every day. I find that my skin tingles with this, and it can sting a bit, even after using this steadily, but it's worth it, because I feel like my skin is happier for it! It does feel more hydrated and smoother, and while I don't see a difference with the pigmentation either, it's something I would definitely finish! This also retails for the same price. If you had to pick one, which would you go for and why?
