Review: Jelly Ko Dewy Glaze Toner
I love a good toner, but it wasn't always the case! I think that I was a late bloomer when it came to adding that as one of my skincare steps, and I remember not being overwhelmed or particularly interested at the concept of something like this, something so watery, without strong actives in it, to help target a specific skin issue. I don't think I can tell you when exactly that changed for me, but suffice to say, toners are well and truly part of the joy of my meditative skincare routine these days!
Speaking of being a late bloomer, it also took me ages to get into K-dramas, and honestly, no regrets on expanding my tv shows, because there are so many great Korean series out there! There are also plenty of excellent K-beauty products out there, and it delights me to talk about a brand that I discovered a while back, and reviewed previously over here, and that would be the Jelly Ko Dewy Glaze Toner, which has been a fun addition to the rotation!
So, let's talk about this little cutie! It's marketed as 'mirroring the look of a freshly iced donut, but for your skin', and I will admit, that's what first attracted me to trying this out. This is presented in a tall bottle with a pump that gives you a small dollop of toner with each push. While I should have expected it, I was still surprised by the jelly-like consistency of the toner, being more used to watery types. Additionally, despite sitting like a little blob in your hand, this is easy to thin out between the palms of my hands, and it gets absorbed in a heartbeat.
I love that it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky, which, again, you might think it would, given that it's quite thick, but instead, it just helps with keeping my skin hydrated, as well as leaving it soft and smooth, ready for the next step in my skincare routine! It does also seem to help with keeping my skin looking bright and glowy - exactly what I tend to go for! This contains 3 types of hyaluronic acid, all meant to help maintain moisture and hydration, while betula alba leaf water is there to improve the skin's barrier and reduce water loss.
Additionally, there's also a mix of blueberry, strawberry and blackberry, full of antioxidants, to help fight free radicals, as well as panthenol, which is a humectant that's meant to attract and hold moisture. Last but not least, there's also chinaberry plant extract, which also has antioxidant properties, and it can also help soothe and restore the skin, as well as keeping it plump. The bottle holds about 155ml of toner, and it is cruelty free, which I always love! It retails for a comfortable $40, and you can find it over here. What's your favourite K-beauty toner?
