Review: Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Tinted Hue Drops

There's cult skincare products, and then there's Glow Recipe! I can still remember when the brand first kicked off and took the world by storm. It's still a relatively young skincare line, but it has churned out such a variety of products, and products that work, and are vastly popular. This was one of those things that really exploded and took off in during COVID, I noticed, presumably because sales of skincare went up with people staying at home, and the appeal of makeup had waned at that point in time, as people weren't leaving the house as much. It was well deserved, though, because Glow Recipe definitely has some amazing products in their range!

Based on Korean skincare philosophies, the brand seems to specialise in products that are steeped in fruit, paired with amazing active ingredients, all designed to leave the skin glowing. In this instance, the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Tinted Hue Drops definitely does leave the skin glowing. This is recommended for babes who want to hydrate and brighten their skin. The formula includes hard hitters like niacinamide to help smooth over the appearance of pores, while also improving hyperpigmentation.

It also has centella asiatica, which is packed with antioxidants, to help soften and sooth skin, reducing redness, and hyaluronic acid and watermelon work to hydrate, plump and soothe the skin. Watermelon is packed with vitamins A and C, as well as amino acids, and the phytonutrient lycopene, helping you put your best face forward from the very first pump. All of these ingredients translate into a multi-tasking serum that has a sheer tint to help even skin tone upon immediate application, while also working on the skin to keep it glowy and moisturised in the long run.

This comes in a cute teardrop/lightbulb shaped bottle that has a good pump, which dispenses a small, but neat, amount each time. The only downside with this is that it can be tricky to see how much you have left in the bottle, so you don't know when you have to run out to grab another one. This can be used in a variety of ways - you can choose to mix it with your foundation to add to the luminosity of the skin, as a highlighter, by dabbing it along the cheekbones and hairline, or even simply on the eyelids to add a bit of colour and shine.

My preferred way to use this is as part of my skincare routine - about 2 pumps onto the face and neck to help give my skin that good glow. I love that this doesn't leave my skin looking shimmery, like a disco ball. Rather, it just gives it a very dewy, sheer sort of glow, which looks quite natural, without being shiny/oily. I got this in Sun Glow, and it's also available in Rosy Glow, if you're concerned that this may be too dark for you. You can always grab the 15ml version for $33 if you'd rather try it first, or go all out and get the 40ml bottle for $57, available now at Mecca. What's your top Glow Recipe recommendation?
