Let's Get Naked! Ft. Lush Cosmetics *

We've all been guilty of wasting things and adding to garbage. Sometimes, you can practically feel the polar icecaps melting, thanks to the amount of packaging and plastic you dump. That's why it's so great when you have a major company like Lush running a huge campaign about going naked. Free of packaging, that is!

Buffy Body Butter Bar

Did you know that Lush now has over 100 products that don't have packaging? This means that over 100 types of lovely smelling Lush goodies don't add to landfill, because once you use them, they're gone!

Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar

We're talking soaps, bath bombs, bath melts, body butters, massage bars, solid facial cleansers, serum, solid shampoo bars, solid hand cream, bubble bars, and, phew, almost there, foot cream. I think we often underestimate how much one person can contribute to landfill, so this campaign raises some wonderful awareness. Even the packaging peanuts can be broken down and melted by water, leaving minimal traces behind,

Big Solid Conditioner

Another bonus of this is that because the products are so strongly scented, you can stick them into your drawers to keep your clothes smelling fresh!

I also really like the poster that came out as part of the campaign. They used their own staff and got them to let it out, quite literally! A bit of a positive body image thing, and a cheeky way to get the message across about creating a positive impact on the environment.

New Solid Shampoo

Another good point to remember is that they use recycled products for their packaging, when they need to, and they can in turn, also be recycled. Absolutely genius!

Just imagine - these four products are only a fraction of what you can find in store sans packaging. Also, some of these would certainly be great travel companions when you have a very limited amount of liquids you could pack into your carry on luggage.

So the next time you're thinking of indulging in something for your bath, hair or body, consider popping into Lush to have your senses overloaded, but not your bin.

And of course, as always, Lush is cruelty free with a portion of vegan appropriate products.

What do you think of this campaign? How do you help reduce your carbon footprint?

  2. Good on Lush, and good on you for bringing their good deeds to our attention. The amount of disposable stuff my household churns out in a week is scary - we are fanatical recyclers, but still there's way WAY too much packaging out there. Nice one hon ♥♥♥

  3. I love Lush, but don't use it much as I don't have a bath. But their bath bombs smell amazing, and the rest of their products do too. I think it's great that a company makes a devoted effort to reduce use of packaging, and thanks for a great post highlighting this.
