Review: Aveeno Skin Relief Reparing Balm

Happy Monday! For me, there's a little shift in my programme this week, because I'm actually not at work, but technically still kinda working, if that makes sense? As a veterinarian, we're all required to do something call continuing education, which means that we have to clock up a number of hours doing webinars, conferences and essentially work on ourselves professionally, so that we're up to speed with that's new in the world of veterinary science, and strive to do the best for our patients and clients. Plus, I'm a bit of a nerd, and really enjoy learning! I've been wanting to upskill quite a bit, and I'm doing an ultrasound course this week!

I can do some basic ultrasonography, but it's something I want to be better at, because if you could, why wouldn't you, particularly if you're meant to have one study week a year? So, that's what's I'm doing instead of going to work - attending an ultrasonography course, and learning to be a better me! Half the time when I'm doing an ultrasound, I'm focusing on where I'm placing my hands, which leads me to looking at my hands, and you know what that means! All of a sudden, I can see how dry my cuticles look, spot flaky bits of skin, and realise that my hands could look a little healthier.

It hasn't helped that my hands got in a patient's mouth recently, and they are still in the process of healing. To help that, I've been using the Aveeno Skin Relief Repairing Balm, which has been fantastic for my hands! It's designed to help keep the skin moisturised, while also supporting the moisture barrier. You can use this on your hands, but you're not just limited to that area - you can spread it across your body, face, lips, feet, knees and elbows instead, if they're spots that need more TLC. Essentially, it's for any dry region that you're looking to soothe, protect and repair.

This comes in a tube with a flip lid, containing about 75 ml of product. When squeezed, this produces a thick balm that spreads over the skin easily, and thins out when rubbed between the hands. I like that this has a bit of an oatmeal scent to it, and that it seems to get absorbed nicely without taking very long. Despite feeling quite rich, this doesn't leave the skin greasy at all, and I love that it works well on my lips, keeping them feeling comfortable and free from being chapped. It's also great for that little bit of skin beneath my nose - as someone who isn't loving the Spring allergens, it's very soothing!

It retails for about $25, and can be found where Aveeno is available, of which there are plenty! This also means that this will go on sale regularly, so keep your eyes peeled! It's a great overall balm that works well, and work hard, to keep my skin and lips feeling comfortable and soft. Definitely a product that would be great for travelling with, but also for keeping on the bedside table for when you're in need of a bit of extra something. Absolutely worth the money, and I would recommend picking one up for yourself! What did you last try from Aveeno?
