Review: Philosophy Amazing Grace Intense and Pure Grace Luminous Body Oils
In a move that surprises absolutely no one, I bought some body oils at the tail end of last year, and it would appear that my obsession with body oils is still continuing full steam ahead, particularly now that we're well into Summer. The reason I say this is because the hotter weather has me showing more skin, purely because I'd melt in this heat otherwise, and there is literally no better time than now to trot out the shimmery body oils, so that you can glow!
My first memory of Philosophy's Amazing Grace involves my sister, who was obsessed with the scent, and ran through quite a few bottles of it, and as such, it's a product that I think of fondly. And honestly, when I saw this pop up on Sephora, I simply couldn't resist - a body oil? Check! With a scent I like? Check! Tons of shimmer? Check, check, check! I couldn't go past the Philosophy body oil products, so much so that actually ended up getting both the Amazing Grace Intense Luminous Body Oil and the Pure Grace Luminous Body Oil!
These limited edition body oils are both non-greasy, dry body oils, in that they spread over the skin easily, just like a body oil would, but it doesn't leave the skin feeling slippery at all, which means you can go from freshly washed and moisturised to fully clothed in very little time. They both come in a glass bottle with a spray pump, and the design makes it so that it's easy to spritz the oil onto the skin, allowing the user to rub this all over the body without any issues.
I love that this adds a beautiful shimmer to the skin, without making it look terribly glittery, like the body products of the nineties - I feel like I've said that quite a bit over the last few years, and it's clear that I'm still traumatised by all those beautiful, yet bad for the environment, chunky glitter gels that were so popular 25 years ago! These are a far cry from them - lightweight, moisturizing and subtle in it's fragrance, they live up to being a rather graceful product, much like the names would suggest!
Amazing Grace Intense carries a floral and fruity notes (and being anything but intense), while the Pure Grace has a slightly more floral, cleaner scent with a hint of musk, and these body oils truly have my skin feeling soft, while adding a bit of a luminous glow. The best part of these body oils is that because they don't make my skin feel slippery, it doesn't add to making me feel sweaty - does that make sense? I just wish I'd bought more of them then, because they seem to be sold out now, but if you can get your hands on some, I would highly recommend buying them quick smart!
