Review: Sukin Skincare *

Sukin needs no introductions - just about every chemist I've ever been do stocks them! Despite being quite familiar with their original line, it took me a while to investigate their Super Greens range, and I'm glad I was given that chance not too long ago!

Today, we're discussing everything Sukin, and it's good!

Kickstarting things is the Hydrating Body Lotion from their normal range. I received a pump bottle of this that contains 250 ml of product, making for easy access. This has a fresh, citrus/herbal scent and it's medium consistency means that it gets absorbed relatively well, but does take a little patting for it to sink into the skin.

This contains horsetail, nettle, burdock, aloe vera and several oils, including rosehip and jojoba.  A good one for the transitional months.

Overall, this is an easy one to like from Sukin! You can get this for $12.99.

I've also been trying out the Sukin Super Greens Nutrient Rich Facial Moisturiser. This is also $12.99 and comes in a 125 ml pump bottle. It's relatively rich and while I appreciate a good face cream that hydrates like this one does, the downside is the lack of SPF. This contains kale, spirulina, chlorella and parsley, as well as antioxidants.

I prefer this to the facial moisturiser from the normal range. There's just something about it that prefer, and I think it comes down to the scent (not as herbally or strong) and the way my skin feels afterwards - the normal range is a little thinner.

In contrast to the creams, this Facial Recovery Serum is of a thin, watery consistency. This comes in a 30 ml brown pump bottle, and it holds all the goodness of kale, spirulina, chlorella and parsley, as well as avocado, grape seed oil and cocoa butter.

Due to it's consistency, this gets absorbed really quickly, and while it's not particularly hydrating, I've really enjoyed it on the warmer days. I feel like my skin might have gotten a little smoother as a result of this. This goes for $17.99.

I absolutely love this oil! This 100 ml pump bottle of oil contains some great ingredients, which I really love on my body after a dry period (ie after a pole class) and it also has that great scent that I appreciate.

While it is an oil, and does have a bit of a residue, it does end up getting absorbed fairly well, and it leaves the body feeling soft and nourished afterwards. This holds soybean oil, calendula flower extract, rosehip oil and marula seed oils. For $19.95, this is great for the skin!

I like the message behind the brand, and that's basically that they are cruelty free, vegan, and they also care about their impact on the environment - all of the good things! For those who are particular about it as well, I believe most, if not all, of their products are paraben free.

While not all Sukin products have worked for me in the past, this reintroduction to the range (and introduction to the Super Greens variety) has been very positive, so i certainly wouldn't mind exploring more from this brand.

What have you tried from Sukin that you loved? Have you used anything from the Super Greens range?

  2. I have their Detoxifying clay mask from the new range and I do like it! I'm a big fan of the rest of their products as they don't irritate my skin and are so affordable. I just had a look at their website and the chia seed oil sounds really good. I do want to keep trying their products!!
