Review: Fake Bake Flawless and Body Polish *

For all that I love Sydney, this weather certainly hasn't been my favourite for the best season of the year! When I broke my collar bone in 2014, I had to endure hot, sweaty days just sitting around, unable to do anything fun. Fast forward to 2016, and it's cloudy almost all the time! Or sunny when I'm at work - boo!

Thank goodness for fake tan! While all these ladies with time of their hands are running around getting a golden brown, I've been turning almost glow in the dark pale. Fake Bake has come to the rescue with their Fake Bake Flawless Self Tan, which retails for $39.00.

Here's what you'll find in the pack:

It's pretty straightforward:
1) Slip on the rubber gloves provided
2) Pop the tanning mitt over your hand
3) Spray some Fake Bake on the mitt (brown side)
4) Start rubbing away in circular motions

I was impressed by how quickly this dried down! It's not a particularly strongly scented fake tan - in fact, I only caught the slightest whiff of something a little floral, but nothing more than that. I wore thin pyjama pants over it and wore it all day, washing it off after at least six hours (as recommended on the pack) of it sitting on my skin. The colour that I turned was glorious! Streak free, tandoori-less, and just plain gorgeous.

Let's not forget that part of fake tanning is about the preparation! To help you get ready (aside from the shaving side of things), Fake Bake also has a Passion Fruit Body Polish. This comes in an easy squeeze tube that contains 170ml of product.

I have to admit, I found the colour of this a little alarmingly orange, and I thought the gritty bits were a little too fine for me, but that also meant it could reach the small nooks and crannies to get a smoother, more even surface for the Fake Bake. This retails for $22.00.

Like my cat, Fake Bake Flawless Self Tan is just that - flawless!

Have you been using sun-replacement products? Have you tried Fake Bake previously?

  3. I am still a noob at fake tanning lol. The tanning mitt I tried kept moving off my hand when I was applying the tan. I've only tried a LeTan mousse and it was alright.

    1. It's a little tricky overall, I think! Takes a little getting used to.

  4. Sounds good. I haven't needed to fake it at all this summer. Two weeks intensive daily swimming lessons outside with the kids, it don't matter how much shade and spf, I still turned brown. Thankfully no painful burns though :)

  6. I have no tried Fake Bake products before which I am shocked at myself about because I have been using so much tanning stuff lately, trying to work thru the stupidly silly sized stash that I have. This sounds like one I need to try. x
