Review: Sunsilk Addictive Brilliant Shine Shampoo and Conditioner *

I wash my hair generally fairly often, doing it approximately every two days, and depending on how ick it gets at work, sometimes daily for a few days. As such, I do tend to be quite conscious of the kind of shampoo and conditioner that I use, given that it can be a little drying with washing my hair that often.

As part of Sunsilk's collaboration with different hair experts, they co-created this particular duo with Jamal Hammadi, who is a hair stylist to the stars, and is based in the US, and also happens to have his own line of hair products.

Both bottles are a pretty pink! How can you not like it?

The shampoo comes out almost clear, and is relatively thick. I know this sounds kinda crazy, but I do like my shampoos clear, if possible. It's almost as if it seems lighter on my hair and doesn't weigh it down.

The scent of this is what comes at you when you first flip the lid of this bottle. It's like being smacked in the face with berries, but obviously a lot more pleasant. It lathers up nicely, and it provides you with that nice clean feel.

The conditioner, like the shampoo, is also quite light. This one comes out a creamy white and just like the shampoo, also has a similar berry scent. It isn't a particularly rich conditioner, but it certainly does leave the strands feeling soft.

It's the shampoo on the left and the conditioner is on the right, The verdict? A excellent pairing, but it sadly doesn't increase the shininess of the tresses. Instead, it keeps my hair as regularly shiny as it usually is. That said, it cleans nicely without being harsh and stripping the oils from the scalp. Additionally, the scent is an absolute winner. Sadly, the scent doesn't hang around.

I am currently loving this duo, and will be finishing them off!

Have you used any Sunsilk products recently? What's your favourite?

  1. I've tried a couple of versions from their range a while ago because they were so affordable. They did the job but nothing too amazing.

  2. I think this would be a good shampoo after my weekly swim, I've been finding it extremely difficult to wash out all the chlorine from my hair!!
