Reivew: Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Warming Face Mask

It's Monday morning, and I feel like I spent all weekend trying to get things done and only achieving half of my goals! Does the weekend just zoom past anyone else, or is it a me problem? I don't know that I've managed to do much of my to do list, but I guess that's just modern life - hustling and trying to have it all! That said, just remember that you can have it all, just not at the same time, and take some time out to relax - you're doing your best.

As someone who wants to squeeze as much time as I can out of my days, like the human equivalent of a juicer, I like using products that double as something else, or allows me to have more time to do things. Aside from giving my skin a boost and adding to the overall quality of my complexion, I also really like masks, because it does it's job while I'm able to do something else. In this case, I like that the Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud Warming Face Mask deeply cleanses my skin, while also keeping it warm - a bonus on the colder days!

For those who may be unfamiliar with New Zealand's landscape, Rotorua is on the North Island, and it's where there are lots of hot springs, and thermal baths. When I visited Rotorua a while back, aside from going on many hikes, one of the major things on my to do list was to go in for a dip, stay for a long soak, and while I was at it, s mother my skin in their delicious mud. While a trip back to New Zealand isn't currently on my to do list, this is a close second.

This is said to be a deep cleansing mineral rich geothermal mud that's blended with ginger root oil and clove oil, both of which are supposed to help stimulate collagen production, while also aid in purifying the skin. There are natural thermo-actives, which help create heat, allowing those ingredients to penetrate the skin more efficiently, so that your skin can be left smoother, firmer and restored, with improved elasticity. This comes in an opaque tube with a flip lid, and before squeezing it out, simply give it a bit of a shake to help mix things up.

This comes out as a grey paste that spreads over the skin really easily, without getting gloopy or sliding off the face. I like that this really does warm up, and stay warm, on the skin. I really like using this around the pores on my nose, and I love that this does leave my skin feeling soft and cleansed. It doesn't have an obvious scent to it, and when I wash it off, it feels a little gritty, allowing for it to exfoliate my skin a little as well. While it retails for about $36 for 100ml, I don't use a lot in one go, making this a decent price point. I bought this in New Zealand a couple of months ago, but you don't have to go that far! This can also be found online on the Wild Ferns webpage. What's your favourite brand of mud masks?
