Review: One-V-Salon Flexi Growth Serum Mascara

 

When I think about looking awake, it's seriously all about the eyes for me. For example, when I'm tired, I know that there will be eye bags hanging out beneath my eyes, and fine lines that gather, partly from my age, from needing more moisture and hydration, and also forming as a result of me rubbing my eyes, trying to stay awake. One thing that has worked against me from the young age is my lashes, when it comes to looking bright eyed and bushy tailed. I went through a phase of getting eyelash extensions when I was in my twenties, trying for that curled lash appearance that would make me look more awake. For a face touching eye rubber like myself, however, it's not a sustainable exercise, and one that's probably more expensive to upkeep that I'd like.

 

As such, I've had to learn to pivot over the years. My lashes may never curl easily, or naturally, but through lash lifts that I get done every couple of months, I've been able to get my lashes to stay looking curled, getting the most out of my mascara. This has an advanced polypeptide, vegan, cruelty free formula, so that you can swipe away without the guilt of knowing it's been tested in animals, all while getting thicker, longer looking lashes. This also has a water resistant formula, which makes me think of tubing mascara, which means that it doesn't run, and also doesn't smudge, resulting in wide awake looking eyes without the raccoon circles that can accompany mascara.

 

I love that this doesn't clump on the lashes, and that it contains nourishing ingredients to help the lashes look healthier, while also promoting growth. It's a lovely mascara, but my favourite part has to be the packaging! This has a little handle built into the cap of the mascara that you can twist, and in doing so, the silicone wand adjusts and bends further, resulting in as little, or as much, of a curve that you're after to help reach those hard to touch spots with mascara. This uniquely ergonomic design ensures that your lashes are all sufficiently coated in mascara that's infused with goodness, so that you can continue to have good lashes even after you've removed your makeup. Just make sure you straighten it out before you put the the wand back into the tube!

 

I will say that if it's volume that you're after, you're going to find it lacking a little bit here, as I find even multiple layers of it to not do as much as I'd like, but if you're looking for a mascara that protects and loves your lashes, while still helping you achieve that wide awake look, you don't have to look too far! Removing this is easy - much like tubing mascara, this comes off with micellar water and a bit of gentle teasing. Since I started using this mascara, I've definitely noticed a difference in the quality of my lashes. They are silkier, and look to have less breaks in them, and overall, they actually do look a lot healthier, which is really saying something, given the frequency of my lash lifts.
