Review: Conserving Beauty Sea You Cleansing Balm

I know that I can't be the only person who has those days - you get home, after a long day of mixed emotions and much squinting at the computer screen, dodging other people's mood swings and outbursts, and the only thing you want to do is have a shower to wash away the day, tuck into some warm, comforting food, before tumbling head first into a long, deep slumber that you'd have to be roused out of by the sharp, loud ringing of your bell.

Of course, the reality of it is that there are many more steps in between, such as removing your makeup, slathering your skin in body lotion, and going through all the layers of your skincare routine, and it's never as snappy and quick as you'd like for it to be. Thankfully, skincare companies created cleansing balms and cleansing oils, so that you can at least expedite the process of actually going from being upright to landing in Snooze Town without your makeup on!

Given that this is my second experience with Conserving Beauty (you can check out the first post over here), I already had high expectations for the brand, and I have to say, I wasn't disappointed! The Sea You Cleansing Balm is designed to purify, refresh and remove makeup. It does so by utilising some pretty fantastic ingredients, such as blue tansy, which is supposed to help hydrate the skin, while calming irritated skin and balancing it. Castor oil is present for reducing inflammation, while cocoa seed butter can help skin retain moisturise and protect the skin barrier.

Coconut oil is great for melting the makeup away and nourishing the skin, while candelilla wax serves as an emollient to help protect the skin barrier and prevent loss of moisture. There is also soybean oil, which is steeped in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, and this helps with collagen production for better skin elasticity. Sunflower seed oil helps in feeding the skin and keeping it moisturised, while vitamin E combats free radicals and the addition of diethylhexyl sodium sulfosuccinate, which is a salt based surfactant aids is removing makeup and dirt from the skin.

This comes in a glass jar with a screw top, and you just need to scoop out a small amount, adding a few drops of water to it, transforming it from a thick paste texture to a soft, milky consistency that does a good job of taking it all off without stripping the skin of it's normal oils. I like that this also moisturises the skin while removing the leftover traces of the day. This is actually a really good product, and one that I'd be happy to finish! You can pick one up at Mecca for $48 a jar. What have you tried from Conserving Beauty?
