Review: Facetheory Glow-C Cream Cleanser
I think I've been enjoying using up my cleansers so much so that it's taken me ages to actually come around to trying a new cleanser! It's been months on the blog since the last one, and like with all things, whenever I pick up something that I like that's new to me, it's a bit of a face palm moment as to why I didn't give it a go sooner! And of course, that's exactly how I felt when I picked up the Facetheory Glow-C Cream Cleanser. The moment I tried it, it made me wish I'd broken it out sooner.
I'd heard of Facetheory previously, but never tried it until now. Facetheory is a B-corp, UK based skincare company that has a wide range of products sitting at a decent price point. If that doesn't grab your attention, then trying it should, and where better to start than with the Facetheory Glow-C Cream Cleanser, particularly given the change in weather here in Australia, where we've gone from hot, humid and sticky, to dry, with cooler nights, and blazing hot days?
This is a cream cleanser that's designed to help remove substances like makeup, surface oils and dirt, all while keeping the skin bright with Vitamin C. This uses 2% Vitamin C in the form of a derivative of Vitamin C, which is meant to be more stable than pure ascorbic acid. This serves as an antioxidant, fighting off free radicals to help even the skin tone, improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation, while also stimulating the production of collagen to help keep the skin firm. This can also help smooth over the appearance of blemishes.
The second key ingredient is sweet almond oil, and this is steeped in triglycerides, as well as oleic, linoleic and myristic fatty acids. making it helpful for soothing the skin, and keeping it soft. This can also help to reduce moisture loss, so that the skin can stay better moisturised. It also contains avocado oil, which is swimming in antioxidants, as well as as lovely fatty acids to help protect and soften the skin. This comes packaged in a metal tube with a screw cap, which truly isn't my favourite packaging. It's a little diddly, and I always feel like there's product left trapped in the tube. However, the cleanser is absolutely beautiful. This comes out as a creamy, buttery cleanser and coupled with the scent, makes me feel like I'm spreading lemon icing across my skin.
It's incredibly soft, and cleanses the skin very well, while still keeping it moisturised. I love that it doesn't dry out the skin at all, and that it feels like it does remove the surface debris really nicely. This is really affordable, sitting at $28, particularly for 150 ml of product that does such a good job. What I find unique about this is that they have actually created two versions of this, with one being unfragranced, and the other being the one that I have and love - mandarin scented. This cleanser has the added bonus of being cruelty free, vegan and Peta-approved, making it very a inclusive product to use! You can grab your own over here.
