Review: Bangn Body Lip and Cheek Gloss Balm in Raspberry Drop
Happy Sunday, babes! Sundays are for relaxing and taking it easy, unless you're working, or like me, you're scheduled to work the whole weekend, checking in on patients in hospital, even without clinical hours, and hey, that's all part and parcel of what I do! That said, I can take it easy on those days still, because I'm not in clinic, attending to clients face to face, which is why I can also wear whatever I want to, and that includes my makeup.have to say, Thankfully, during this very long weekend, with Good Friday and Easter Monday off, I've been able to stay steeped in my skincare for a number of hours, which I've really loved!
I love my days off, because I love stewing in my skincare then, and this also means wearing less makeup, or really paring down what I have on my face. This is the time when products that pull double duty really shine! Makeup products that are skin loving, while still having the ability to enhance what I have - that's where my heart is at when it comes to what I want to have on my skin! Enter the Bangn Body Lip and Cheek Gloss Balm in Raspberry Drop, the perfect companion to wear while running around to carry out my errands!
This vegan balm is marketed as a nourishing and hydrating lip and cheek gloss balm that's meant to help treat, soften and smooth the skin, while also giving it a flush of colour. This has a sheer, buildable natural tint that you're supposed to be able to layer to get to the colour that you want. The formula includes shea butter for keeping the lips soft and conditioned, as well as cocoa seed butter to nourish and moisturise the skin, and raspberry fruit extraction for the antioxidants, to help fight signs of ageing and soothe inflammation, while also brightening and hydrating the skin.
There's also olive fruit oil, which is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, as well as having anti-inflammatory properties, so that the skin can get a soft, radiant glow, free of irritation and inflammation. Last but not least, there's organic coconut oil, which is helpful for moisturising and hydrating dry, chapped lips, while also have anti-bacterial properties for soothing and protecting the skin. All of this is crammed into slim tube with a metal applicator that has an opening in the middle, making it easy to get the product out.
This has a smooth, velvety that starts off ever so slightly tacky at first on the skin, but dries down beautifully to give the skin a glossy sheen. It has a candied scent that reminds of me a chewy lolly, but not a saccharine sweetness that makes me think of cough syrup. On the lips, this gives me a bit of a my lips but better shade, with a beautiful shine. I also love that this seems to go a great job of keeping my lips moisturised, without having them feel sticky. Sadly, on the skin, this doesn't give me as much colour as I'd like, and it seems to work better as a gloss product than a blush to highlight areas that the light hits my skin on the face. Find this for $28 on their website, or at Sephora.
