Review: Alpha-H Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment

Summer is just a stone's throw away, and this means that with the warming weather (which has been teasing us with constant temperatures of 30 degrees celsius and over for a few weeks at this point), it's been full steam ahead for getting our skin prepped for the hot days ahead! It's time to shed the old (skin, clothes, you name it), and in with the new, smooth and wonderful, and Alpha-H is here in time to help you with that!

If you're after something to help firm your skin and help to improve the appearance of sun damage, redness and inflammation, as well as deal with uneven skin texture, so that you can have smooth, radiant skin all over your body, then you'd want to read all about it the Alpha-H Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment. Alpha-H has really been churning out the goodness lately, with their revamped icon, the Liquid Gold, and they've now dropped some delicious body products that you need to add to your dresser!

This has some powerful ingredients that hit really hard, such as 8% glycolic acid, which is an AHA that exfoliates the skin, helping to speed up the skin renewal process by breaking down the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, resulting in skin that has better luminosity and clarity. It's also meant to help stimulate the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, fine lines and smooth uneven texture. This also has 2% lactic acid, which is another AHA with a similar function, in that it can help exfoliate skin cells and accelerate skin renewal, as well as increase ceramide production in the skin's barrier and boost hydration.

Additionally, there is 1% encapsulated retinol in the formula, which protects the skin by working as an antioxidant, regulating skin turnover, accelerating cell division, cell differentiation and encouraging the formation of collagen, so that the skin can be firmer and smoother. Being encapsulated also means that there's a slower release of retinol, reducing the potential for irritation. Coenzyme Q10 is the last main ingredient, but certainly not the least, and this one helps with cellular energy production, improving hydrating and skin tone, resulting in a reduction in visible signs of ageing.

This comes in a tall, green pump bottle that pushes out a small amount of what I would call serum, rather than lotion, each time. It is quite thin, and gets absorbed by the skin really nicely. There's a light, citrusy/floral scent that I can catch each time I move around a bit, which is quite pretty. I don't feel like it's sticky on me, and instead, my skin feels smooth with it, and I've noticed that some of the rough patches on my skin, thanks to pole dancing, have eased up quite a bit since using this. It's a bit like getting skin rehab, and I'm very thankful that there's something out there that can tackle it! As something to help take care of tricky spots, this is great! It's an affordable $49 for 120 ml of product, and can be bought from various sources, including Mecca. Is this something you can see yourself using?
