Review: L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Retinol + Niacinamide Pressed Night Cream

 

Sleeping is one of my favourite activities. I mean, between eating and work, that's definitely one of the times when I honestly put in the hours. One could say that that's the time when I really shine, when everything is dark. Naturally, this also means that I tend to gravitate towards things that work while I'm not, and one of the hardest workers I've found this year is the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Retinol + Niacinamide Pressed Night Cream.

 

This combines the power of niacinamide and retinol in order to create this amazing cream. Aside from two beautiful active ingredients, this also has hyaluronic acid. Made to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, while also improving your skin tone, this particular cream has the additional claims of reducing dark spots and keeping the skin hydrated. All of is presented in a jar that keeps things really fresh by having a pump built into a platform that has an outlet in the centre for the product to come through. All you need to do is press it and the product comes out through the middle. 

The amount that is delivered each time covers the face, and some of the neck, and the cream itself has a beautiful, light texture. It gets absorbed relatively quickly, leaving the skin feeling smooth, and is neither tacky nor greasy, and to me, there is very little in the way of fragrance. Now, don't do what I did initially, and that's dive in headfirst, thinking I was immune to the effects of retinol, given the regularity with which I used it. 

 

I found out the hard way when I had a reaction to this - there was tingling and itching. Thankfully, that died down when I scaled back my usage and slowly (very slowly!) eased myself back into it. I did not get any further flare ups, and my skin definitely took better to it the second time around. It seems to do a decent job of hydrating my skin, although I can't speak for it's wrinkle reducing properties. It does, however, seem to have improved my skin tone!

This retails for $59.95, and you can find it in multiple locations where L'Oreal is stocked, including Priceline. It's a great night cream, and all you need to remember to do is to go slowly when you first start using it! This may very well be a great product for someone who likes to keep things simple - with this, you don't have to deal with analysis paralysis by second guessing yourself when it comes to getting a serum.
