Review: Bathefex Softsole Express Heel Peel
I feel like the theme of Winter has to be dry skin. I mean, I have to deal with it daily, and I'm someone who moisturises, ya know? Despite our best efforts, however, sometimes it just doesn't go as planned, and we end up having to deal with scaly bits of skin anyway. Thankfully, when it comes to our feet, there are plenty devices, ranging from the basic pumice stone to the fancier battery operated foot files, to help deal with shedding the unsightly bits of skin. One of my favourite methods has to be a foot peel, and now, for those who have thickened, dry, cracked skin on their heels as their primary issue, there is the Bathefex Softsole Express Heel Peel!
For those who have heard of foot peels before, and maybe even used them, this is essentially the same thing, but with pads that target just the heels. And if you're familiar with foot peels, then you'd know that Bathefex is one of my favourite brands for keeping my feet soft! For those who may have heard of them previously, but been too nervous to give them a go, or who have heard of them at all, you really need to try them for yourself to understand the hype!
If you're a bit nervous, and want to start small, then this could be just the right fit! Released in April, this looks to target and eliminate tough calluses and dead skin, removing dry cracked skin from heels, so that you can be left with silky smooth skin. Like the foot peel, this promises to start peeling within three to seven days, and it truly is minimum effort for maximum results! It's easy to use. Simply open the packet, and you'll find two smaller packages inside. One contains the inner heel pads, and the other holds the heel covers.
There are instructions with illustrations, should you get confused about anything, but it's straightforward enough that you can figure it out easily. Place the heel pad onto the heel, then unroll the heel cover before wrapping it around heel and inner pad, using the attached sticker to hold it in place. As always, I wear socks over it to keep them from sliding around, and then I potter around the house, doing my chores while it does it's job over the next 90 to 120 minutes. Once you've had it on for the sufficient amount of time, remove the peel and rinse your feet in warm water to get it all off.
Over the next few days, I would recommend soaking your feet in warm water daily to help speed up the process. Just remember not to rub your skin in a bid to try and get it off sooner! I would also recommend that you wear socks everywhere you go, as the sight of your skin peeling off may be a little much for those around you. The Heel Peel has quite a lemony scent, and the heel covers do a decent job of holding the heel pads in place. While I feel like the Heel Peel as it's place, I am a bigger fan of the foot peel, mostly because my heels aren't in that much need of help. There's nothing quite like seeing your skin peel off! This retails for $8.99, and it can be found at their online store. Do you use a foot peel regularly?
