Review: Thayers Hydrating Milky Cleanser
While on one of my favourite outings (ie browsing the aisles of Priceline while I was out and about), I came across the Thayers Hydrating Milky Cleanser, and something about it appealed to me. I feel like I prefer cream cleansers over gel cleansers these days, but I couldn't quite place this in one or the other, and thought this might suit me well during the Summer. This is said to help leave the skin clean, soft and with a smoother, better hydrated skin. It's meant to help with cleansing the skin and improving the texture, while looking after the skin barrier.
This fragrance free cleanser includes some fun ingredients, like snow mushroom, which is primarily there to help support the skin barrier, so that it can retain moisture better and stay hydrated, resulting in a dewy, supple complexion. There is also hyaluronic acid, which is great for drawing moisture into the skin, therefore keeping it hydrated and soft. Additionally, this also contains elderflower water, which can serve as an antioxidant, as well as an anti-inflammatory, keeping the skin soothed and calm.
The pump bottle has a squarish, slim body, and the pump produces a nice amount of product each time, I tend to be a little excessive, going for two pushes every occasion I reach for it. The cleanser itself is a milky white, and it doesn't foam up very much for me. I don't find this to be a match for a lot of the makeup that I use daily, when used as the sole form of taking the day off, and would recommend definitely using micellar water to remove the bulk of it before using the cleanser.
It otherwise does an excellent job of removing excessive oil and dirt from my skin, so that I can be left with a complexion that is clean and comfortable. It certainly doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry at all. This cleanser is cruelty free, alcohol free and currently retails for around $25. The packaging is also recyclable, which I appreciate. I think that this would suit someone with dry skin, or those who may be prone to having skin that doesn't stay as moisturised as they'd like for it to. This is currently available at various retailers, including Chemist Warehouse and Priceline. Do you tend to seek out cleansers that don't dry the skin?
