Review: Alpha H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm

Nothing quite beats having a makeup free day. Picture this - you're in your best cosy outfit, snuggled up on the couch, whether there's a bit of a comfort watch trashy TV show on or you're engrossed in a good book. There's a fuzzy blanket over your legs and if you're like me, a furbaby hanging around, asking to be patted every now and then. Your hair is off your face, and you're stewing in your hydrating and nourishing skincare, so that you can maintain your radiant, glowy complexion. One easy way to keep your skin bright and clear is by making sure that you remove all of your makeup at the end of the night.

One of my favourite advancements in skincare has to be the creation of cleansing balms. It makes me feel like we've come so far from the younger years of taking off the thick, pancake makeup after dance performances with Johnson's Baby Lotion. Makeup remover has also gone through so many difference reincarnations, and while micellar waters are probably my favourite way to take it all off at the end of the day, cleansing balms are not far behind.

Having had some excellent success with Alpha-H over the last 12 months, I was thrilled to learn about their Limited Edition Melting Moment Cleansing Balm! I simply had to try it, especially once I read up on it! This is infused with the natural fragrance notes of geranium leaf, rose and orange oil, so that you can have a mindful moment of peace to collect yourself at the end of the day, relaxing with quiet notes of aromatherapy, while you're taking off your makeup.

The Melting Moment Cleansing Balm comes in a rose coloured tub with a screw cap, and sitting inside is the cleansing balm in the same colour. For those who have no experience with cleansing balms, you should consider it if you have makeup that's particularly stubborn and hard to remove, or you're prone to having dehydated and dry skin. Ultimately, however, this is suitable for all skin types, and it's easy to use. Simply extract a grape-sized amount, massage it into the skin, then emulsify it by adding a bit of water while still rubbing it into the face, before washing it off with a cleanser.

This has such a lovely texture, and tough mascara is absolutely no match for this! It absolutely does take all of my makeup off without stripping my skin of it's natural oil, and it's does a good job of not causing any skin irritation. I love that it does keep my skin soft and hydrated and the scent is soft and gentle. This retails for $69.95 for 90g of product, which looks like more than it sounds. It's currently available on the Alpha H website, as well as via retailers like Adore Beauty and Mecca. What's your favourite cleansing balm?
